Dr. Peter Pachowicz
Dr Pachowicz received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer
Engineering in 1979 and 1981 respectively, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science
and Engineering in 1984, all from Stanislaw Staszic Technical University of
Mining and Metallurgy, Crakow, Poland. He joined George Mason in 1989 as a
Visiting Assistant Professor with the Computer Science Department. In 1990
he accepted a position as an Assistant Professor with the Systems
Engineering and the Computer Science Departments. He currently holds the
rank of Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was a
faculty member at the University of Hamburg, Germany, and Stanislaw Staszic
Technical University, Poland. He served as head of the Image Processing
Group, Institute of Control Engineering, Cracow, Poland. His major research
interests are in machine vision/perception, automatic target recognition,
machine learning for engineering problems, evolving self-adaptive system,
knowledge-based systems
, autonomous
agents, intelligent systems, simulation and modeling, and intelligent
robotics.
